Agreed. We used an ancient, noisy old Rodime on a LaserWriter IIf for
years -- on a long SCSI cable, under the printer table, inside two vented
boxes with some foam to absorb the hard drive's scream. When that died,
we dug out a newer old SCSI drive for the same thing. It greatly speeds
up printing.
Do note that the drive has to be formatted when attached to the
LaserWriter and that you have to manually install the fonts.
