        The IR system apparently works on Sony codes.  TV-power to switch
the machine on.  VCR-power to shut-down (though I recall doing it before
with the TV-power.)  Volume does as expected.  VCR-Play starts up the
video player.  I assume the channel buttons do as expected too (I'll find
out as soon as I install my TV card. =^)  Just about any button elicits a
*click* from the speaker, though I don't know if it's actually doing
anything. (My MD player is right below the computer so when I'm titling
tracks, the computer's going *click*click*click*click*...)
