My apologies if everyone's getting sick of hearing about my freakin' SE/30...
Seems Green Jade crashed while I was transferring a few files over while my g/f was also using it (it now lives in the living room), and now it plain refuses to load up System software of any kind. It DOES display a Happy Mac icon on startup. And then does nothing. Reboot with some form of start up floppy and it gets a little way in... a System 6 disk flashes the "Welcome to Macintosh" graphic infinitely, System 7 boot disks made from the images on Gamba's site usually freeze as the GUI comes up; mouse works, but no menus. If you wait a LONG time - like 5 mins - the "Can't Find Startup Volume" icon appears if its not feed a boot up disk (ie. just trying to startup from HD). Figuring first that it was some kind of hardware problem with the recently added RAM and NIC I quickly removed them in turn and still nothing. Am I left with no option other than to rip the HD out and try mounting on my 8500? Cheers, Ben. -- Vintage Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
