Thanks for the suggestion Gamba... great site btw, must visit it twice a day...
anyhoo, I had tried my trusty SuperBooter disk with no luck. Shift-on and write protected, it booted up fine. However HD SC Setup can't initialise anything not mounted... as the password is needed to mount the HD normally none of the standard apps on that image worked. back into the 8500, the first aid et. al. apps are replaced with Mt Everything... doesn't want to boot up (corrupted system folder warning, Sad Mac on reboot) unless extensions ARE loaded. Unfortunately the NoFinder app - it appears - cannot execute Control Panel-style apps, which Mt Everything is. MicroNet can't be extracted because there's no room on the floppy for it and, of course, the internal HD isn't accessible. Score : Locked disk 46, Ben 0. Any other ideas? Cheers, Ben. > Usng a minifinder instead of an Apple finder *might* do it. > There's a boot disk (SuperBooter75) at my site that has 7.5 with a > minifinder.
