Thanks  for the response. To push the abstraction a bit further, let's  say
we're talking OS 8.1 and that it is on a  computer bought and  dragged in
from a  garage sale? How about on a  stack of HD's pulled from computers
bought at a  garage sale? I practical terms, I  don't think  the Blue
Meanies will kick down the  door, but  just  suppose  the "awthawitties"
were looking for something to nail you with? Headline: NEW YORK MAN JAILED
IN MASSIVE SOFTWARE BUST!!!!! Investigators discovered dozens  of pirated
editions of extremely valuable  software in the apartment of. . .when all it
was was a pile of junk HD's that you hadn't scrubbed?
