That leaves open the possibility that I  could, since it is not  my problem,
use the OS (or other software) in question and just say  that it is  the
responsibility of of "that guy" who sold me the computer to have wiped the
drive, he didn't, so  go  away and leave me alone. . .which obviously won't
fly.
