Win98SE tends to hang on shutting down with os8.1 corrupting the hardfile though very good with 7.x. The ME machine seems happier running Basilisk though swapping between windowed and full screen tends to insure a three fingered salute to shut it down, no hardfile corruption. Did you have trouble installing 0S8? I resorted to a very long custom install one group at a time, very tedious and probably unnecessary in the most part but it removed the stability and corruption problems under Win98.
