It would probably be where I was going wrong. A bit pointless as you
could just set a higher amount of memory in the gui. Thanks for the tip

 From the more info box in the memory tab for the Q900 rom...
Identified as Quadra 700/900
AppleTalk is not supported.
This is the worst known 1MB ROM.

Compared to this for the IIci...
Identified as Mac IIci
FPU must be enabled.
AppleTalk is not supported.

The Q650 gives much the same as say a LC III....
Identified as Mac LC III.

Ian might like to try Darwin x86 for a bit of fun.
