The trouble with PC SCSI drives is usually always a termination settings related
one.

There are jumpers for term. power, ID, Remote Start and other things which, if
not set right will cause havoc.

Using a good third-party formatter like Lido 7.56 and Alliance APS Utility can
force the drive to be seen, if its settings "jive" with what the IIci is
expecting.

An external drive is a valuable tool. It can boot the Mac with the troubled
drive inside, and, you use the above mentioned formatters to mount the problem
drive.

If this fails, go get the specs for the drive off its maker's site and reset
some
jumpers.
