I was a little sad that Stuffit wound up being the > popular compressor, because I always preferred DD. It seemed to work really well, just some applications obviously didn't like having their files compressed. I also had a wierd artifact with sound: it basically didn't work. Removing AutoDoubler restored sound. File System Manager extension was also unhappy with AD/DD installed. It's possible this was all conflicts with various extensions, and I don't have any software to sort that kind of thing out. The extension move/reboot cycle takes a long time. > So no problems for me with this app, on many different machines. It > sounds to me like you have some corruption on your old machine/HD. I doubt that. If the HD were corrupted, then decompressing an installer wouldn't fix the problem. I don't get these errors running with AutoDoubler turned off. > If you have the means, copy the drive onto Zip disk, reformat and > reinstall the System. Besides, it was licensed for the Mac I got, so it's paid for as far as I'm concerned. -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- Vintage Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
