That's odd.  I've got four M2943s and they all have speakers.  The 
headphone jack disconnects the speakers when a stereo headphone plug 
is inserted.  Shine a flashlight through the grill.  The speakers are 
only about 2-inches in diameter and don't fill the whole grill.
