-- Hi Ted- This is only a guess... You have to reformat or initialize the drive using an older version of DriveSetup, one that's timely for 7.5.3. I did something similar a few months ago. I took a 2 gig drive that had 9.1 on it, installed it where the internal 1/2 gig drive was in a IIci. I also had an extrnal drive attached to the IIci on which I had dragged the 7.5.3 system folder, earlier on. Using the external as a start up and with a copy of Apple SCSI Setup, v 7.3.2 or Apple HD SC setup v 3.0.1, I don't remember which (sorry) I formatted the 2 gig. Took quite a while.
