Thanks to all for the help with IE and iCab.

I mistakenly called IE 4.01, IE 4.1. The install problem vanished when I
upgraded the OS to 8.1.

Also, the problem I had with iCab was my fault. After replacing the
battery in the Centris, I inadvertently set the date to 11/3/03 instead
of 1/3/03. The advanced date made iCab think it had expired.
