It's intended for cases where you have no choice but to bond two different types of plastic pipe together. IMHO it's "universal" all right, universally bad. :P Better to glue matching type plastic threaded fittings on each side then use a mechanical union. Many plastic items have an international recycling code icon somewhere, usually on the outside for utilitarian stuff like milk jugs and on the inside of parts that won't be recycled for years if ever. Only way I know of to tell if a plastic is ABS, PVC etc when it doesn't have the type code molded in is to try little dabs of various glues in spots that won't show. Once the glues dry try to pry the dabs off with a sharp knife. Whichever _won't_ come off is the right glue to use. ;) (Actually a thick solvent.) OTOH, you may be able to use the araldite if you rough up the parts with sandpaper and apply some extra onto the inner surfaces where it won't show. Araldite is the same steel filled epoxy we call J-B Weld in the USA. ===== "Why do Zik-Zak Burgers come in plastic packs? Some of the plastic rubs off on them and increases their nutritional value!"
