One or the other. In this case, you got pins.

If they're straight, and stay so when you insert a floppy, then either
you have a high density drive, (red Sony label on the side of the drive), or
a double density drive, (blue label), and if the floppy sets in and removes
effortlessly, it should work.

Look to see if the carriage looks bent or tweaked. The carrier (in-and-out
sliding part of the disk tray) should look straight, not rumpled.

If you see anything odd happen to the pins, the carriage or the disk upon
insertion of a floppy, then you gotta feex it.
