on http://www.danamania.com/temp/psu_latch2.jpg the red arrow points to the PSU socket on the motherboard. that's also holding the side of the PSU down a bit. Still, wriggling bit by bit gets it out :)
I ended up getting it out thanks to a previous e-mail from Ken looking straight down but I was focusing on another latch which is on the bottom of power supply; it is a plastic piece that is in a u-shape. When I pushed it, it fell off. Then it started to come off but then I noticed the other latch from Dana's link. I'm tempted to not put back that plastic u-shape back in.
Luckily the floppy drive from the dead Mac IIx worked. --
