If it bongs, then you're getting the ROM to function. Like the Quadras, the LC 475 likes to NOT fire up with a dead P-RAM battery. You CAN restart it rapidly, twice, and fool it into starting with a dead battery. Try that before going on to other troubleshooting stuff.
