It is not recommended to plug/unplug scsi devices with the machine on.

I didn't think it was just "not recommended", I thought plugging and unplugging powered SCSI devices ran a very high risk of frying them and the Mac!


Saying that, I have unplugged a powered CDRW drive with no problems on one or two occasions when I have been in a rush :)
