Don't do anything drastic yet! Try the easy fixes first.
Open your SE30 control panels folder inside the system folder. Locate the "startup" control panel and be SURE that the SE30 is selected as the startup device.
With the SE30 I believe that any SCSI HD must be turned on before startup in order to work properly. If the control panel had been set to the SCSI at any point, the SCSI would continue to be the startup disk until told otherwise.
If that is not successful, try intalling a new control panel folder in the system folder. Before you do this rename the old control panel folder (perhaps "old control panel") and remove it from the system folder. Then you can add back any odd control panels.
BTW, with the SE30 you probably shouldn't be using anything newer than OS 7.6 or 8.1 at the outside.
