Yes.  It's generally not a good idea to plug or unplug a SCSI device
when the computer is running.  However, I have ton it many times
(usually by accident) and everything's still OK.  I think it's one of
those things where there's a possibility of your computer being fried
if you do it.

Actually, it's bad to turn on/off your SCSI device when your computer
is running.  You should always turn on your SCSI devices first, then
the computer.
