It was a holder for the light that came from the big, half-height Quantum hard drives.
The light itself, an LED, plugs into a two-wire socket on the underside front of the hard drive.
It does have a Quantum 80MB Hard Drive, but no wires coming out of it...
I was just curious.

Hi...
I found a Mac IIci in a thrift store yesterday for $5. I bought it, and brought it home. Upon powering it up, I noticed I needed a new PRAM Battery for it. My friend is bringing one over today...
I was wondering about that light on the top of the case - is it supposed to be connected to anything? I can hear the hard drive clicking for about 5 seconds (not like it's starting up - the normal clicking I hear as soon as you power it on). The light doesn't light up at all. I popped open the case, and saw it was connected to nothing.
Should it be?

For a non-booting drive, check it with a bootable floppy containing a System Folder and
Disk First Aid.
