Do a search on yahoo with this

+"powerbook 160" +"reset power manager"

Copy all of that, quotes and plusses, then paste
into Yahoo.

The usual way to do a power manager reset is to
unplug the AC adapter from the powerbook and remove
the battery. Hold the reset button for 30 seconds.
Plug in the AC adapter and boot up the powerbook,
then insert the battery after the System is fully
booted. If the battery is good, then it should work
and charge normally.

Some Powerbooks have some differences in the
procedure!
Apple has some battery control extentions for various
Powerbooks that do things like keep the thing from
going to sleep when you want to fully discharge a
battery, and to add compatability with newer battery
types that'll physically fit older models but won't
work properly without the extention. (One of these
is the Duo series with three battery types that
were made backwards compatable using a special
extention on the older models.)
