I have heard that Macs can be tricky to program.  I do have a lot of general 
programing experience, mostly old 8bit micros and UN*X, odd combo.  I am 
interested in learning 68k assembly, and like low-level programming.  I would 
appreciate a list of good books on this subject.  So far all the Mac books I 
have found are for OSX and/or focused on introducing inexperienced users to the 
computer.

As far as pascal is concerned, though I have used Turbo Pascal extensively in 
college, I do not care a lot
for that language.  I have downloaded a modula-2 for the mac, and will play 
with that a bit.

BTW: Why is it that Macs are notoriously so hard to program?
