I have an HP ScanJet 4p with an odd problem. It works fine at any resolution below 300dpi, but when I try 300dpi or higher, it'll scan in short bursts, back up a bit and go again and the scanned image has random horizontal bands missing one or two of the three primary colors. I wonder if it uses a completely seperate system for scanning at 300+ dpi? Perhaps with a rotating filter that's gotten balky? It will be total Fandemonium!
