I think I may have screwed something up. I have a Macintosh II that had
System 7.0 running. I used Appletalk to connect it to a IIvx with an
internal CD reader and installed 7.5 over the network and then upgraded
to 7.5.3. The install was successful, but when I restarted I got a
"bomb" and a "bus error". I tried zapping the PRAM, and starting with no
extensions, but nothing seems to work. I have upgraded several other
(slightly newer) machines using the same technique and not had a
problem. Is there something about the II that doesn't like 7.5.3? (And
by the way, the floppy drive won't read, so I can't even use that as the
startup drive.) I am ordering a couple of good floppy drives, but
meanwhile I would like to see if there is a "quick fix" for the problem.
Thanks in advance,
Mike
