Thanks Jim for the info about the Hercules 4 cylinder engine fueled by
natural gas to turn the compressors on large A/C units.

Back to the drawing board. I want a silent A/C unit, not some noisy
internal combustion engine. Why do all that work when a rather silent
52 db Honda Gen putting out 3 KW will drive a 13,500 btu Air
Conditioner. Lots of "talk" about an absorption, ammonia type unit,
but I have never seen even a small one for an RV.

A friend who lives in McAllen, TX tells me of some engine-driven (N.G.
fuel) A/C units. They used a small Hercules 4-cylinder engine and cooled
banks, stores, and larger homes. Maybe you could find one of these,
mount it in the back of your P/U, and run a couple of ducts to the
trailer...???
