Probably not.....

I bought one of the Brosol 34-3 Mexi-Carbs and transferred some of the parts
from my original German Solex. In essence, I gave the brand new carb a
thorough rebuild using a kit from NAPA. The linkage and accel pump were
swapped due to alternator clearance problems. I swapped a 130 main jet
(slightly richer) in place of the 127.5 stock unit. The gaskets in the NAPA
kit were much better than the stock ones (the float bowl leaked when I got
it all together and mounted...seeping at the main jet access plug....I had
missed replacing the crappy factory metal O-ring gasket). Everything was
double-checked: float height, accel pump squirt volume, cutoff solenoid (I
dressed the tip with a file to smooth out the rough machining) and initial
mix, bypass and throttle stop screw adjustments. I don't know about the
Pierburg carb (German-made?) but the Mexi-Braz carbs have poor QC and need
fine tuning/checking right out of the box.....it was time well spent as the
engine idles and pulls well without stumble or hesitation.

Getting the carb rebushed might cost you as much as buying a new carb. Check
with your local machine shop as they might be able to perform the rebush
work. Check out Jeff Dreibus...he's "The Old Carb Doctor" in Nebo, N.C.
(1-800-945-CARB)...he does rebushing and restoration of old carbs. Looked at
doing my original Solex; bushings and truing the mounting flange (which is
warped) but the cost was a little dear for me at the time so I went with the
Brosol replacement.
