Good Morning Volks,
On the way to work this morning I heard a "thunk" and then the generator belt began to make a squeeling noise. I checked it when I got to work and noticed the rear (FIF) part of the pulley was rotating but the front part of the pulley was not and the belt was rotating also. I removed the nut holding the rear part of the pulley on and saw that the larger "ear" was missing. The fan in the doghouse was still rotating so I'm not too worried about losing cooling but I could not get the front part of the pulley off. I don't have my manuals here. Is there a trick to getting off the front part of the pulley? This is on a 74, generator equipped, standard beetle Thanks, Chuck G. 74 Standard Beetle My Daily Driver _______________________________________________ vintagvw site list [email protected] http://lists.sjsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/vintagvw
