No mystery there. The John Deere GmbH has a huge factory in Mannheim,
Germany, where (a friend tells me) they have build both farm and
construction equipment since the 1950s.

My reply to this a bit earlier vanished into thin air a few hours ago.
Heres whats bothering me now. John Deere was American. The horn button
in question has a Petri logo along with the words 'Made in Germany-West' at
the back. According to what I gather, John Deere had nothing to do with
Germany, or did he??
