    I would second Marc's observations here. We got Euro spec VWs here in 
Pakistan. A few US spec bugs are around but these were self imported. 
 
    Ive seen the REAR left brackets on bugs and at the scrapyard. Most if not 
all were taken off 74 (or maybe as stated here post 72) beetles. I picked up 
one and fit it to my 68, not because I would like to tow something, it looks 
good :)
 
    Ive seen some front beams at the scrapyard, not sure of the years, with the 
said towing eye. They are not as strong as the rear ones and Ive seen some 
break just due to the rough handling by the folks at the 'yard.
