Speaking of speeds and mpg: Does anyone still have the link to that group that
used a Ghia to get 50+ MPG? They found that 50 something MPH was the key along
with some carb mods.
That would be a timely link to have archived!

Thanks to all who gave info...I kinda figured you'd need some adjustments to
the carb/injection system, not to mention the corrosive effect of the alcohol
on rubber fuel lines.

I won't even attempt to make it work- sounds like an all-around bad idea.

By the way, peripherally, on my vacation I did an experiment with my bus. I
kept the outbound speed strictly limited to no more than 60 mph and got 20-22
mpg. On the way back I bumped it to 65 mph consistently and got about 15 mpg, a
5 or more mpg loss. Slow down and enjoy the scenery!

E85......

If you live in a region where E85 is readily available
and can be counted on to always be right around 85%
alcohol, you could jet your carburetor to run on it
but your MPG will be significantly lower unless you
also build the engine with a much higher compression
ratio.
