I have a stock 72 Bug and the little spring loaded button in the center of the
ignition switch is stuck "in". I got the key out but can't get it back in to
turn NOR can I get the little button to pop back out. I've tapped on it but no
luck.

>From bentley it looks like I have to remove the steering wheel and turn signal
>and wiper switches to remove the lock cylinder but it also appears I have to
>turn the lock cylinder with the key to remove it.

I thought about spraying some silicone lube or graphite down the key slot to
see if I can free it up to release.

Any ideas and I guess Mid-America sells new ignition locks and keys?

Thanks for any advice.
