Volks,
I'm about to get my 1970 recreated Type 1 police car on the road. But I've
encountered a hurdle as I shop for insurance for it.
Hagerty's has great service and prices, I've found, but they require a
locked, sturdy, fully enclosed garage. I only have a carport. There are no
nearby rental garages, nor do I have any friends nearby with available
space. Besides, I want to work on my interior at home. My regular insuror,
GEICO, offers antique car policies (at stated value) at a competitive price,
but they, too, require an enclosed garage (except in Florida -- go figure).
Question: Does anybody have experience with a specialty-car insuror who
doesn't require that the car be stored in a locked garage? Any
recommendations?
