Bert,

I actually have my Bug insured through State Farm, and they have been
excellent. The only thing I had to do was get an appraisal, and then I
could insure it for any value up to the appraisal without storage
restrictions. Years back when someone did rear-end me, State Farm even
helped me find a shop who would repair the damage without putty and
specialized in vintage cars, at no extra cost to me.

I have a 911 with them as well (plus two other cars), and oddly enough
after playing with deductibles and programs they have for vintage cars
and Winter storage, I found they have a great combination of price and
service.

Getting my Type 1 registered and through emissions without antique
plates and all the restrictions that go along with that here in
Illinois, that's still an ongoing battle. But the insurance was no
problem with State Farm.
