It's a 'universal' Brosol carb meant as a replacement for early smaller single-port manifolds (using the supplied adapter and hardware), or for the larger later manifolds for the dual-port engines.

Was it an emissions thing? Also, if one uses a 31 PICT on a 1600SP, will the 31 PICT need to be rejetted in order for it work properly? If so, where does one get jets? Can the main jet be drilled out to make it work? If so, what size do you need to drill the hole to? I'm a bit confused as to what displacement the 31 pict was originally used on? Thanks for the help.
