Happy New Year, Y'All,
Mike in Alabama especially. There's a pretty good Web site that tries to
eep up with fuel retailers who pump ethanol-free gasoline. (There are also
everal useless sites.) If you bring up www.pure-gas.org and put in your
tate, you'll get a moderated list. Happily, it's not only major
etropolitan areas. I found a long list of Alabama tiny-towns.
In my area, a number of independents have formed a marketing co-op and
btained rights to the defunct Pure Oil name and trademarks. They've
eplaced some Marathon stations (a similar marketing co-op) and hung new
lue Pure Oil signs--all proclaiming their product ethanol-free. Not the
heapest, but my 1970 Copbug and 1972 SuperBeetle might both be grateful.
he alcohol-free retailers stock pamphlets explaining why E10 and E15 fuels
an damage some components, and which. They might exaggerate some, but
hey're essentially correct in reference to our oldtimers.
Glückliches Neujahr!
