Courtney - I have a crane xr700 that I removed from my bus engine because I was afraid it was too fancy/aftermarket to be reliable and didn't want it croaking while I was on the road. I guess the pertonix I put in the engine wasn't any smarter because it's the same thing in a different package (kind of.)
I found that if you get the empi accu-fire electronic points module, it will not fit in the SVDA distributor as-is. That's why there is a pertronix 1 and 2. But I took the center shaft out of a junk dizzy, put it in the lathe, stuck the rotor on the end, and trimmed off about 3/32" so the rotor will sit down all the way on the SVDA shaft. Once I did that, everything fits and works great on the 1986 Brazilian double cab.
