I was obviously mistaken about them having been replicas of T1 VW Transporters;
they're based on a T2 image.
They've GOT to be someplace, right? One that I recall had display shelves of
costume jewelry, small purses, wallets, etc. Clearly they were available in
more than one configuration. But the detail was impressive and the image
clear. Wonder whether they had permission from VWAG or VWoA to market them --
they have trademarked their "image and concept" so it's difficult to make
anything vaguely volkswagenesque.
Thanks, Eric and others. Let's try to find a source for them.
