When removing fenders, some previous owner (I always blame those P.O.s)
apparently torqued out about 9-10 M8 weld nuts in the wheel wells of my 1972
SB. I’ve got the fenders off for some body work anyhow and would like to
spot-weld in some new ones.
But I can’t find any – except on German eBay. Gets a bit costy. Does
anybody know a mail-order supplier who stocks M8 weld nuts suitable for
repairing our VW beetle fender mounts? Steve at WCM couldn’t help, and I
can’t find them in my usual assortment of catalogs.
