I have a feeling that Apple doesn't want you using the same email
address as your id is because what happens if you lose access to that id
email due to a change which is our of your control? As for what can be
done if you only have one id, perhaps they are counting on you getting a
free account from me.com, gmail.com, yahoo.com, or hotmail.com or any
other of places where email addresses are free. In fact, what I do is
have one email address for account creations and account notices for
things and that's not an email address I give out to anyone. So that way
if I change my primary email address, I don't have to go change things
with my registrations. I'm geeky like that though.

Subject: Re: Apple Store security questions - Was Re: need some help
I was prompted to do this tonight. For what it's worth, I had an
easier time of doing this when I used a Bluetooth keyboard to move
around, It did take me 2 tries, but that was mainly because I first
entered an email address in the optional field and kept getting error
messages, then couldn't find a done/continue button, so I started the
process over. I finally got everything entered and all is well again.
Not sure why you can't use the same email address that is your Apple
ID, but oh well.

I'm afraid that you can't get around this. Everyone is being
subjected to
setting up 3 security questions and answers. I had to do it a few
days ago
when I was getting an app. The screens to do this are pretty easy
and so
once you get past this, everything will be as it was before.
Hope this helps.

Hi all!
after being clutsy too many times the ap store wants me to answer
security questions to get into my account. I reset my password to
make it easier to type it in and the security questions they are
asking me I never answered anywhere. Anybody have any ideas how to
get around this?
Thanks,
