I think the delay is a lot of the reason some sports stations lose the HD
part of their signal during a game because with the regular delay they have
to prevent fan swearing, it would come out around 15 to 20 seconds after it
left the announcer's mic. I heard they add 8 seconds or so to the analog
side when doing HD so if your radio drops from digital to analog, you
theoretically hear it where it left off, but I doubt they can exactly
calculate how much delay to add, as some radios may decode faster.

Hi Eric and all.
I suspect that the 7 second delay that many radio broadcasts have is due
to
fans saying something that could get the station in trouble. I wonder if
the parks have radio feeds that aren't delayed? They should, or maybe the
station should be told to do this.
Just a thought.
