The iOS app has gone from reasonably accessible, to not accessible at all in
my opinion.
The Apple TV is a settop box that connects to an actual television. It's
meant for streaming content like Netflix to a TV

Oh ok why is this? Sorry if this sounds stupid but what's the difference
between an Apple TV and a laptop with external speakers? Also I plan to
watch movies mainly, not TV episodes.
