I have a dock for my iPhone, and sometimes when I remove the phone from it I have no speech. What I do is just raise the volume of the speech and it comes back. Just hit the up volume button a few times, and hopefully this will work for you. I agree that it's a nuisance. Have a good day, and don't work too hard.
