Yes, it will kick in eventually. I have no idea why it seems to take a
while.

If you are actually in the app, you won't be notified. The notifications
only occur when the screen is locked or you're in another app.

Yes, I meant I wasn't getting notifications from the official twitter app. I
now have it open and have double checked the settings in notification
center, which seem to be what I want, and push is turned on. But thus far,
I'm not hearing anything.
