Last.FM and services like Pandora do not offer the same "music store at your fingertips" that Spotify does. I use my virtual Windows machine to use it on the Mac, which is similar to how I used iTunes from 2003-2007. You might also want to look into Mog, which has quite a bit of stuff that Spotify doesn't (Pink Floyd's whole catalog while Spotify just has one album).
