Well, I have the Von's app which is Safeway where I live and playing around with it for a short bit, it all seems to be quite accessible. Buttons, tabs and so on. I can't say i use it much though since my wife's the one who does the grocery stuff and really I just hand her my phone when she wants to look for a particular coupon or sale, but generally speaking, yes, it does appear to work well with VO.
