Go to your app switcher. Press the Home button to get to the home screen
then click twice to get to the app switcher. There you should see a list of
yur running apps. Flick over to one of the apps; double tap and hold until
you hear "editing apps". Then double tap the app to delete it from the app
switcher -- i.e., close the app. If you keep double-tapping apps you will
close them and eventually your phone will say that the app switcher has no
more apps; you can then dismiss the app switcher.

Subject: Question About Closing Down aplication

Recently, I downloaded BLIND SQUARE, which is an navigational
application from FOUR SQUARE.

I am not sure how to shut it down after I move away from it. I have the
same problem with NAVIGON, which is a power hog. Any ideas? Here is
the link to an article on it.
