One of the bullet points I read in the Jelly Bean news yesterday with all the tablet and glasses buzz was that it would have improved accessibility and Braille display support.
I guess we'll have to see what exactly improved accessibility means, but Braille display support I am interested by. I currently have an iPad and have been considering getting my sighted wife a tablet and if this new Google tablet will in fact have serious accessibility baked in similarly to how the iOS devices are, then that's probably going to tip the scales. Apple so far is still the the gold standard, but if Android 4.1 is really going to be an improvement, I'm all in for just $200.00 or $250.00 as a secondary device. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Christopher Chaltain Sent: Thursday, June 28, 2012 3:18 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: GoogleDrive IOS app hits the App Store True, plus there's ChromeVox and the changes Google has made to Google Docs, Google Calendar and so on to make them more accessible. They still have more to do, but it's an absolute falsehood that they don't care at all about accessibility. The last few messages on this list have also pointed out that Google Drive and Google Chrome are also accessible on IOS. It might not be as good as an iPhone but, Google has not been twiddling their thumbs in regards to accessibility the last year. > > JMO. > > Ricardo Walker > [email protected] > Twitter:@apple2thecore > www.appletothecore.info > > On Jun 28, 2012, at 5:38 PM, Jordan Gallacher <[email protected]> wrote: > >> Google doesn't care one bit about accessibility.
