Sorry I didn't get that you bought them through Apple. I thought you got
them through Audible. I am not sure what you've tried but if you haven't
already consider restoring your last backup. Also consider contacting Apple
for help.

you can only buy them once. After that, you would have to buy them again if
you don't have them backed up.

Thank you all for your advice, criticism and brickbats. I still have not
managed to get my audio books  back.   Even though I have not learned how to
get my audio  books back, this post has taught me many other things. For
instance it has revealed to me the character of the person
who posted a reply . Thank you for your introduction.
