A two-finger double-tap answers and end calls, and starts and stops the iPod (and other playback options depending on how they are coded). Go in to settings, general, accessibility, VoiceOver, Practice Area, and practice with the different gestures. VO will tell you what gesture you are performing and what its actions are.
